Hire me! I love this project and I've been a devotee since reading Mindless Eating - has any work been done on music in cafeterias; working with distributors to provide environmental improvements in exchange for customaer loyalty; kids naming their own menus, etc.

Independent (private) schools often rely on vendors to supply school lunches. Many of these schools also require that food comes completely prepared due to lack of kitchen facilities. In such school lunchrooms, salad bars are non-existent and choices are few. Independent school lunches also do not have to meet USDA standards. As a result, independent schools often provide unhealthy options. I look forward to tips on how to make 'smarter lunchrooms' for such schools. Thanks.

Are you doing any work in the pre-school area, specifically child care centers? I can use a few of these school ideas but would like more information specific to preschool populations. Thanks

Dear Dr. Wansink and the research team at Food and Brand Lab,
My name is MaĆra Perotto and I am a dietitian from Curitiba, Brazil. Congratulations on your extremely relevant and practice-oriented work. It is very helpful to have resources such as the results of your work to provide real-life examples of how the environment and our automatic behaviours affect our eating choices and our efforts to improve our diets.
I have rad the Portuguese copy of Mindelss Eating and conducted several activities with the examples you provide, especially for worksite interventions, back in Brazil.
I am currently a graduate student in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Toronto. While doing research related to nutrition in schools for a project that I am involved in, I cam across even more findings of your work in the smarterlunchrooms website.
Now that I have expressed my great appreciation of your work, I would like to suggest a topic for investigation in children and in adults: the effect of drinking with meals. Even though there is little evidence to suggest an effect beyond the caloric contribution of the drink in contributing to weight gain, I think it would be interesting to investigate if drinking with main meals influences the amount of solid food we eat, even if the drink itself is calorie-free.
Thanks!
